Cargas administrativas y desigualdad: La distribución desigual de barreras administrativas en el acceso de las personas al Estado mexicano

El estudio de cargas administrativas ha proporcionado evidencia de los efectos distributivos que las barreras de acceso a los servicios y beneficios públicos pueden tener para grupos de población vulnerables. Sin embargo, se ha prestado poca atención a este campo de estudio en América Latina. Aplicamos un conjunto de modelos estadísticos a datos de una encuesta mexicana original de 2022 para analizar la relación entre indicadores de vulnerabilidad socioeconómica de las personas y su experiencia de cargas administrativas. Encontramos que mujeres, minorías étnicas, personas con bajos ingresos y personas con bajos niveles educativos dedican más tiempo a tareas administrativas en comparación con la población general de la encuesta. De esta manera, proporcionamos una base para futuros estudios sobre el papel de las barreras de acceso a los servicios y beneficios públicos en la reproducción de las desigualdades sociales, tan arraigadas en muchos países de la región.
