Abstract

This article addresses the decentralization process of the Chilean state since its return to democracy in 1990, emphasizing the analyzing President Sebastian Piñera's term (2010-2014) the governmentof former President SebastiánPiñera (2010-2014). This process is studied, fundamentally, in relation to the evolution of the organization of Regional Governments, regarding the latter, it is claimed that challenges are higher, because less improvements can be observed in the particular term studied, keeping more or less at the same level the development ranking of regions.
