Focus and scope
Estado, Gobierno y Gestión Pública is a biannual scientific publication of the Faculty of Government of the Universidad de Chile, aimed at academics, researchers and social science professionals, as well as the general public interested in these issues. Regarding its geographical scope, the journal range covers the Ibero-American area. In terms of its geographical reach, the magazine has an Ibero-American projection.
Its main objective is to contribute to a high-level academic debate through the dissemination of original and unpublished works, in the areas of government and institutions - in a multilevel perspective, which considers the local level, regional, national–, management and public policies Manuscripts that have been produced in the context of research projects and/or preferably results of empirical research based on an explicit methodology, will be positively valued (we do not publish theoretical essays).
Journal Sections
Since 2023, the journal has two open sections: the thematic dossier, whose theme gives its title to the issue and is mostly co-edited by guest editors. The call is open for both articles and thematic proposals.
The free research article section is open to manuscripts addressing any topic within the journal's focus and scope. This call remains open year-round, unless temporarily closed.
Policy Against Editorial Inbreeding
The Journal Estado, Gobierno y Gestión Pública adheres to the recommendation of limiting the participation of works from and reviewers within the same institution that publishes the journal to a maximum of 20%. This principle allows the journal to remain open to external authors, promoting diversity and plurality in the selection of content. The journal will strive to keep this percentage as low as possible, ensuring a broad representation of perspectives and approaches.
Publication language
Estado, Gobierno y Gestión Pública publishes articles in Spanish and English.
Funders
The journal is funded solely by contributions from the Faculty of Government of the University of Chile. It also receives technical support from the Academic Journals Portal of the University of Chile's Directorate of Information and Library Services (SISIB).
Use of Dublin Core in metadata management in the Journal of State, Government and Public Management
The journal uses the Dublin Core standard as a metadata structure to identify and describe information resources available on the Internet, thus facilitating their retrieval and location.
Scientific Dissemination
The State, Government and Public Management Journal promotes the scientific dissemination of its content through its X account, as well as through the Faculty of Government's Instagram, LinkedIn, and X accounts.
In addition, it disseminates its issues through hybrid format launches in which the editor in charge of the thematic dossier presents the issue alongside guest commentators. These activities are hosted on the Faculty's YouTube channel.
