Open call for submissions of the Journal of State, Government and Public Management, opens the reception of free research manuscripts, they only have to indicate in their submission that they apply for this section.
Visit our website of the Faculty of Government of the University of Chile and keep up to date with our activities and news.
Estado Gobierno y Gestión Pública will consider for possible evaluation original works dealing with issues of the Chilean, Latin American and international context, with particular emphasis on themes of government and institutions, public management, public ethics, public policies, decentralization and modernization of the State.
The journal primarily targets manuscripts that report empirically grounded research. In this sense, the manuscripts must explain the methodology used for the collection and analysis of original data.
Before submitting a manuscript for review, please read the Publication Policies and Ethical Standards for Authors. Please have the letter of originality and declaration of authorship available, remember that it is mandatory to attach this document along with the manuscript, as well as the tables and figures in the required quality, in editable and individual formats.
If your manuscript is submitted to the thematic dossier, you must indicate the title of the call for papers you are submitting in the comments for the editor section. If it is the general articles section, you must indicate that your manuscript is being submitted to this section.
The journal uses an OJS platform for the manuscript submission and evaluation process. Therefore, those interested in publishing must register on the website: http://www.revistaeggp.uchile.cl/. After creating your account, you will be asked for the manuscript and authorship information; new names cannot be added after submission. Please note the following guidelines for completing this information:
First and last names: Each author must use a unique signature, consisting of their chosen first name or a unique bibliographic name. This signature must be the same across all publications. If you include your mother's last name in your signature, include a hyphen between your last names, for example: Saldivia-Rivera. This will prevent the mother's last name from being omitted in citations, which could cause confusion and affect the correct attribution of authorship.
You should ensure that your signature is not confused with other signatures, especially those of professionals working in the same field.
Affiliation: Enter information from the institution in order of affiliation, i.e., university, faculty or department, program, or other; for example: Universidad de Chile, Facultad de Gobierno.
Avoid using acronyms; if you do, they should be written in parentheses (after entering the full name of the institution).
If you belong to an international organization, add the country to which you belong, for example:Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, Ecuador (FLACSO).
Email: Enter the institutional email address. If you are an independent author, enter your personal email address.
ORCID: The author's signature must match the record (https://orcid.org/). If you do not have this identifier, you must create one, and it must contain as much information as possible (it must not be empty).
Important: When submitting the manuscript, it is mandatory to attach the letter of originality and declaration of authorship in PDF format (download from the hyperlink).
Beginning with the December 2024 issue, every article published with multiple authors must include a declaration of authorship using the CRediT taxonomy (https://credit.niso.org/).
CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) is a high-level taxonomy composed of 14 roles that describe the common functions performed by those who contribute to the production of a research article. The roles specify each author's contribution to the final output (one author may have multiple roles).
Possible roles:

Source: Apa Standards (updated) https://normas-apa.org/
*The updated standards imply that the introduction does not have a title, since it is assumed that the initial text is the opening text.
Tables: Title centered over the table, size 12, bold, single-spaced, descriptive title, table centered in the text, and the font below the table in italics, with only the word "source" in bold.
Figures: Title over the figure, size 12, italics, single-spaced, descriptive title, figure centered in the text, and the font below the figure title, with only the word "source" in bold.
Example:
Figure 1. Feasibility and potential benefit analysis matrix for commitments
Source: Prepared by the authors.
* All types of visual elements other than tables are considered figures.
** Both tables and figures must be referenced narratively before incorporating them into the text, adding the corresponding phrase (Table 1 or Figure 1).
***Tables and/or figures must be uploaded to the system in the specific "Submission Files" section, in editable format and with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi (for images). Screenshots or blurry images will not be allowed; the quality of images and tables is a mandatory requirement; they must be uploaded individually.
Notes on tables and/or figures: Add any content you need to describe that cannot be understood from the title or image alone (e.g., definitions of abbreviations, copyright attribution). Include figure notes only as necessary.
Footnotes: Only include them if they strengthen the discussion. They should be used to substantially complement or expand on some information in the text. They must be entered in Times New Roman, size 10, and single-spaced.
Narrative citations: Textual citations (brief, less than 40 words) must be faithful to the original source and must be accompanied by an indication of the author, year, and page number in parentheses at the end, as follows: (Sartori, 2009, p. 21). They must be incorporated into the text and enclosed in double quotation marks (“ ”). For more information, see: https://normas-apa.org/citas/citas-con-menos-de-40-palabras/
Long quotations: (those exceeding 40 words), place the text in a separate block, line spacing 1.5, indented, without quotation marks, without italics, and using the same font type and size. At the end of the quotation, place a period before the reference information.
Begin such a quotation on a new line and indent the paragraph half an inch (1.27 cm) from the left margin (in the same position as a new paragraph). If there are additional paragraphs within the quotation, indent the first line of each paragraph an additional half inch (1.27 cm).
Paraphrased quotations: indicate only the author and year of the original source.
Self-referencing: Authors should ensure that the manuscript does not contain any information that could reveal their identity. This includes avoiding self-referencing in citations and bibliographies. Be sure to eliminate any clues that could identify the authors throughout the text. If you cite your own work, mention it in the third person without explicitly stating that it is the author's work. For example, instead of writing "As shown in our previous study [Author's last name, year]," write "as shown in previous studies [Reference, year]."
Acknowledgments: other information about the manuscript (financing, acknowledgments or any other information related to it), Times New Roman, size 12 and line spacing 1.5.
Please try to enter the funding before the other personal acknowledgments. Articles resulting from research projects with funding should be entered in the following order: name of the Funding Agency/acronym of the instrument/project code, for example: ANID/FONDECYT/Regular1065873
2.3 BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES
The bibliography should be presented at the end of the work, arranged alphabetically, with a hanging indent of 1.27 cm and single-spaced lines. If there are works by the same author but from different years, they should be organized chronologically, starting with the oldest year and continuing to the most recent. If there are multiple works by the same author from the same year, they should be added from the oldest to the newest, with a lowercase letter after the year to differentiate them.
