The author proposes an institutional trajectory of the history of justice in Spain, making focus on the crisis of the Ancient Regime, the gaditanian constitution of 1812 and the emergence of administrative jurisdiction in 1845. This route was not without tensions and controversies arising from the emergence of constitutional principles, such as separation of powers and the new institutional position that the justice took, but ultimately constitutes a reduction of its powers, and its influence in government.
