Abstract

This essay presents a film commentary on the documentary Paris is Burning, focused on the Hispanic/Latino and African-American drag queens protagonists of New York ball scene, and it also assesses how the director deconstructs traditional notions of “femininity” and “masculinity” as well as typical narrative techniques.
